Graham
Graham is a 70 pound Smooth Coated Collie. The best way to describe him is that he is a short-haired version of Lassie. He is my first "official" dog (my actual first "dog" is a cat named Fitz). I grew up with Collies and I know the breed very well. When it was time to get my own puppy, I looked at lots of breeds and it turned out that a collie was the best fit for me. I decided to go with the smooth coated version since I was the one who brushed the family dogs and I did not want to deal with mats on my dog. In October of 2004, Graham was born and in November I drove to Tennessee to pick him up. I had the choice of two puppies. Graham was put on the floor while the breeder showed me his brother. Graham ran over to a chair in the corner and grabbed the coat that was hanging on it and slammed the chair to the ground. He just stood there with this proud look on his face as if to say "Look what I just did". I looked up at the breeder, pointed to Graham and said, "That's my dog." The rest, as they say, is history.

Graham has turned out to be exactly what I have always wanted in temperament and personality. He has a joy for life that is infectious and I always have fun working with him. Graham goes everywhere with me. Graham is trained in agility and obedience. He has done some therapy work and helps out volunteering with rescue dogs. He loves performing his tricks and he is now learning to be a disc dog. Graham has been a joy to be with from the very first day. He is always there to make me laugh after a hard day. The longer I know him, the more I believe that he was put on this earth just for me. I love my Gramsy Grahams!
